This Privacy Policy explains what personal data is collected when you use mohamedamer.org (the “Website”), how it is used, who processes it, and the choices you have. It describes the Website as it currently operates.
1. Who operates this Website
The Website is operated by Mohamed Amer. You can contact the operator about anything in this policy at mohamed@mohamedamer.org, or by phone at +20 120 324 8888 or +7 961 472-44-67.
2. Information we collect
Contact form
When you send an inquiry through the contact form, we receive what you type in: your name, company, email address, phone number, country and message. Name, email address and message are required; the rest is optional.
Technical information stored with a form submission
Together with each submission, the Website’s form software records your IP address, browser and device type, your country (and city where it can be determined) derived from the IP address, the page the form was sent from, and the date and time.
Comments
Article pages include a comment form. If you leave a comment, the Website stores the name, email address and optional website you enter, the comment text, your IP address, your browser details and the time of the comment.
Email and phone
If you email or phone us, we keep the correspondence and the contact details you provide in order to respond.
Website usage data (only if you allow Analytics)
If you choose to allow Analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information about how you use the Website, such as the pages you view, how you arrived, your approximate location, your device and browser type, and cookie identifiers. If you do not allow Analytics, this data is not collected.
Your cookie choice
When you make a choice in the cookie banner, the choice is stored in a cookie in your browser and a record of it is kept by the consent tool (see section 4).
Security and server logs
The web server and the Wordfence security plugin process technical information about requests to the Website, such as IP address, requested page, browser details and time, and record blocked requests and failed login attempts, in order to keep the Website secure and available.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Website uses a small number of cookies. They are listed in our Cookie Policy. Analytics cookies are set only if you allow them. The Website does not use advertising cookies.
3. How we use information
- to read and respond to your inquiry and to communicate with you about it;
- to keep records of correspondence;
- to moderate and publish comments;
- to understand how the Website is used and to improve it, only where you have allowed Analytics;
- to remember your cookie choice and keep a record of it;
- to protect the Website against abuse, spam and attacks, and to keep it working;
- to meet legal obligations where they apply.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making. Where data protection law applies to you, we process personal data only where there is a lawful basis for doing so, for example when you contact us and ask for a response, or when you give consent to Analytics.
4. Who processes or receives data
We use the following providers. Each is listed under the role it plays.
Hosting and infrastructure
- Hetzner provides the server on which the Website, its database and form submissions are stored. Standard server logs are kept by the server; their retention follows the hosting configuration.
- Cloudflare manages the domain’s DNS records. Web traffic to the Website is not routed through Cloudflare.
Email providers
- Google Workspace. Inquiry notifications are sent to our mailbox through Google’s mail relay, and email correspondence is handled in Google Workspace. The Website’s mail plugin keeps its own delivery log, retained for 14 days.
Third-party analytics (only with your permission)
- Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, is loaded only after you allow Analytics in the cookie banner. It is set up through the Site Kit plugin. Until you allow it, the Analytics script is not loaded and no Analytics data is sent. We do not use Google Analytics data for advertising, and the Website sets Google’s advertising consent signals to “denied”.
Consent management
- Cookie Consent by Elementor shows the cookie banner and keeps a record of your choice (the choice, the time and your country) on Elementor’s servers as proof of consent. The plan we use keeps these records for 30 days.
Fonts
- Google Fonts. Most pages, including the home page, load the Roboto, Roboto Slab and Poppins typefaces from Google’s servers. This happens when the page loads, before you choose in the cookie banner; your browser contacts Google, which receives your IP address and browser information.
Security tooling
- Wordfence (free edition) runs on our server. It records blocked requests and failed login attempts, and may send information about malicious requests, such as IP addresses, to Wordfence as part of its security network. Its “live traffic” logging of visitors is switched off.
Advertising
- The Website does not currently show advertising and does not use advertising services or advertising cookies.
Other
- Website software. WordPress and the plugins used to build and run the Website (page builder, forms, SEO and multilingual tools) run on our own server and are not separate recipients of your data.
- Social and messaging links. The Website links to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Telegram and WhatsApp. These are ordinary links; the Website does not embed those services’ widgets or trackers. Once you follow a link, that service’s own privacy policy applies.
Apart from the providers described above, we do not share personal data with anyone else, except where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
5. International transfers
The Website’s providers operate in several countries, so your information may be processed outside the country where you live.
6. How long we keep information
- Form submissions and correspondence: kept as long as needed to handle your inquiry and to keep reasonable business records. They are not deleted automatically.
- Comments: stay published until they are removed.
- Email delivery logs: 14 days.
- Cookie-choice records: 30 days on the consent tool’s servers; the cookie in your browser lasts about 6 months.
- Google Analytics data: kept for the period configured in our Google Analytics account.
- Security and server logs: kept by the security plugin and the hosting provider under their own settings.
You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see section 7).
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction or objection to processing, and to withdraw consent you have given. You can change or withdraw your cookie choice at any time with the “Cookies” button on the Website. To make any other request, email mohamed@mohamedamer.org from the address you used, describing what you would like. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within a reasonable time. If you believe your data has been mishandled, you may also contact your local data protection authority.
8. Security
The Website is served over HTTPS and protected by a security plugin. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Website is intended for professional audiences and is not directed at children.
10. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the Website or the services it uses change. The version and dates above show when it was last revised.
